The digital world offers unprecedented opportunities for speculative fiction authors, but promoting your work takes time and effort. Take one easy step and join Past Future Present 2011.
A sampler of author-selected fiction from established writers, Past Future Present 2011 will be priced at ninety-nine cents to allow Kindle owners looking for new fiction to buy a lot of good writing at almost no cost.
What’s in it for you? Publicity. A chance to find a new audience. Links to your works for sale on Amazon. Links to your website, blog, and Amazon author page.

Announcing...
Copper Publishing's Writer to Reader Imprint announces the opening of submissions for Past Future Present 2011, a digital anthology of short fiction by professional Science Fiction and Fantasy authors who are also marketing their books on the internet. The collection will be priced at Amazon's minimum price, ninety-nine cents, in order to reach the widest possible readership. Each story will be accompanied by an author's biography, live links to the author's sales site, and live links to books for sale in the Amazon kindle store. In addition, authors may receive a share of the profits, if any, but the main value to the contributors will be exposure of their works in the digital market.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: SFWA members OR authors who have sold a story to a market that has paid at least three cents a word, and who are seeking to promote their work through the Amazon Kindle Store. If you have thought about putting up a short story on Amazon Kindle to draw in new readers, consider submitting it to us.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Past Future Present 2011 is seeking all kinds of speculative fiction, including work that doesn't fit into standard marketing niches. We want stories that will draw readers to check out the authors' online offerings. This anthology is meant as a marketing tool for your work, so send us your best. Reprints are accepted, as long as the author owns the digital rights.
WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR: We will not consider fan fiction, that is, stories based on previously published work that the author does not have the right to. We will not consider shared world stories, or stories without a speculative element. No dusty old trunk stories, please. Save those for DUSTY OLD TRUNK STORIES, coming next year or so from Dead Fish Press.
HOW TO SUBMIT: Format your story according to the following directions:
Please include a cover letter with your name, the title and word count of your story, and website. If you are not a SFWA member, then include a listing of your most recent professional publications.* Proofread carefully and email your submission to pastfuturepresent@yahoo.com
WHEN TO SUBMIT: As soon as possible, but definitely by November 27. We are planning to release this in time for the Christmas Kindle shopping season. Then start working on your submission for next year's anthology!

Past Future Present 2011 is a speculative fiction anthology for Kindle.
Email your story as a doc. or .rtf attachment. Put =Your Name/Your Title/Past Future Present 2011= in the submission line.
Format your story as it should appear in print. Don’t use headers, footers, or page numbers. Do use 12 point Times New Roman, “curly quotes,” and italics instead of underlining. Single space. Indent paragraphs a half an inch instead of using tabs. Blank lines should be indicated by a centered hash mark. Leave only one space after periods, semicolons, colons, question marks, and other final punctuation. Leave a one-inch margin all around. And end your document with "THAT'S ALL, JIM!" so that we know that we received everything. Both "The End" and "THAT'S ALL, JIM," will be edited out of the published story.
Your full name, your pen name if any, your email address, and your complete mailing address should be in upper left corner of the first page. Space down four lines, center your title, space again, and center the name you want the work to appear under. Space again and begin.
